Agarose gel of products derived from a reverse transcriptase based PCR assay performed on RNA extracted from infected and uninfected cultures using primer sets based on sequences of stealth virus-1. Lane 1 contains Molecular Weight Markers of 1,000, 700, 500, 400, 300, 200 and 100 bp respectively. PCR products obtained using an SCMV positive control (lanes 2,5,8); RNA from the patient's culture grown in RhMK cells (lanes 3,6,9); and RNA from uninfected RhMK cells (lanes 4,7,10); using stealth virus-1 reactive primers based on the sequence of plasmid C162114 (lanes 2-4), 3B647 (lanes 5-7) and 3B412 (lanes 8-11), respectively (Table 1). Lanes 11 and 12 were reagent controls.
